Anyone have an ideas of what kind of income some of the other UT sports message boards generate? I'd be very interested to know. Blackie, this is a first class move on your part.
Boards like Sat Tailgate who post no ads only bring in money via donation. You can see that by looking at their community chest activity (public knowledge).
Otherwise, board revenue is based upon the number of ads, the number of page views and the number of ad clicks. Ads placed at the top of a page in full view garner more clicks. Ads populated every dang where on a page generate the most revenue. Considering that a single click garners anywhere between .01 and 20.00 (based upon word of mouth, i've never seen a click worth that much), I'd say the Scout and Rivals boards make enough to cover 3 or 4 reporters with plenty to spare to cover hosting, support, etc...
It's hard to quantify, since I've never been inside that size web operation. My experience is in the real world.
